Framed by the Yorkshire landscape, this exhibition marked the first time that Field For The British Isles (1993) was presented in a rural context. Gormley’s installation of 40,000 miniature terracotta figures, handmade by people living in St Helen’s, Merseyside, was acquired for the Arts Council Collection in 1995. Gormley also presented a series of twelve woodblock ‘Bearing Light’ prints.
