Insiders And Other Recent Work featured a selection of Antony Gormley’s recent works. Eight of these sculptures were a part of a recently developed series, ‘Insiders’, which tries to concentrate the information that is needed to signify ‘body’ to an absolute minimum. Through a mathematical process, Gormley reduces the original body to one third of its mass. The resulting iron sculptures have a rudimentary, primitive form. By submitting a certain amount of visual information about the concrete body, the nucleus of the sculpture is revealed: the attitude or the memory of an internal condition. This effect was enhanced when several sculptures, standing in a slightly different way, filled one exhibition room.
