Places With A Past celebrated a major exhibition in Charleston of temporary installations conceived by internationally recognised artists. In Charleston's Old City Jail, Antony Gormley presented a series of works: 

 (1991). The installation presented a series of correspondences: between figurative and abstract forms; warm and cool sensibilities; body and spirit.
