First Plaster Works

Made immediately on my return from India, I laid plaster-soaked sheets over the bodies of friends to make simple hollow shells, generating forms that are both abstract and yet specific. I was touched by the repeated sight all over India of people asleep covered by thin cotton saris or dhotis in the streets and on railway platforms.
