Starting with a river stone found in Cumbria, I wanted to try to activate a stone’s ‘skin’ by carving concentric lines around its surface.

This process continues in the meandering lines of the Skin series, and then into the regularly spaced lines of Replaced Rock, which is inserted, to half its height, into the floor.
